The artworks reflect Vietnamese people’s patriotism and criticize China’s hegemonic actions. Ly Truc Dung is one of Vietnam’s top caricaturists: "Caricaturists are soldiers on the fine art front. It’s very touching to see 20 caricatures painted by Vietnamese artists, some as old as 85, and some who have painted caricatures for the first time in their lives"
These caricatures will be on display in Hai Phong City early next month to mark the 50th anniversary of first victory of the Vietnam People's Navy before travelling to other venues across Vietnam.
