Recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage, this is the biggest festival of the year for fishermen. 

During the three-day festival, a procession of the god of the sea,  an offering ceremony to welcome the Whale God, and a worship and prayer ceremony will be organized by local fishermen. Cultural and arts activities featuring fishing villages will also be held.

Booths displaying models and images themed “Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelago belong to Vietnam" and selling Da Nang’s OCOP products have been set up.

The whale worshiping festival helps to preserve beliefs, tradition, culture and art, while asserting the national sovereignty over the sea and islands.
