He made the request at Sunday’s working session with local leaders to direct recovery from the recent heavy rains and floods and to respond to Storm Khanun, the 11th storm to enter the East Sea this year.

Minh asked Thanh Hoa to continue searching for those who are still missing, to help people in flood-ravaged areas stabilize their lives, and to ensure hygiene, disease control and drinking water.

He asked Thanh Hoa province to conduct regular inspections of the dyke system and take appropriate steps to evacuate local families from landslide-prone areas.

Deputy Prime Minister Minh inspected the dyke system along the Chu River and visited some affected households.
