(VOVworld) – A conference of donors for the Gaza reconstruction will be held in Cairo next Sunday and attended by US Secretary of State John Kerry.

In an earlier statement, the Palestinian Authority proposed a 4-billion-USD aid package of which 1.9 billion will be used for infrastructure reconstruction and 1.2 billion for restoring business operations in Gaza. Other priorities are cleaning up the battlefield, repairing power plants, and improving the water supply, health care, and education for Gaza inhabitants. The White House announced last month an emergency aid package worth 71 million USD bringing the total aid for the Gaza strip to 118 million USD since the Israeli offensive was launched.
