(VOVworld) – Egyptian ex-army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has won 94.5 percent of the votes cast abroad in Egypt's presidential election. His sole rival, leftist leader and opposition figure, Hamdeen Sabbahi only won 5.5% of the vote.
The polling results, announced by the Egypt's Presidential Election Committee on Wednesday, showed that 322,000 voters cast their ballots as polling commenced from May 15-19 in 141 Egyptian embassies and diplomatic agencies abroad. El-Sisi won 296,000 votes of the total of 318.033 eligible votes while only 17,207 votes went to Sabahi.
