EU vows to respond to Trump’s possible 25-percent tariffs
(VOVWORLD) - The European Commission said on Wednesday that it will react firmly and immediately against unjustified barriers to free and fair trade following US President Donald Trump’s statement that the US would soon announce a 25% tariff on imports from the EU including the auto sector.

The EU is the world’s largest free market and has been a boon for the US. The trade dispute between the US and the EU has increased since President Donald Trump announced plans to impose a range of import tariffs in order to address what he described as a trade imbalance.
The US and EU were locked in a trade dispute during President Donald Trump’s first term when he imposed a 25% tariff on steel and a 10% tariff on aluminum imported from Europe.
The EU says it will respond with reciprocal measures.
