The five-day event honors the Tran Dynasty who ruled from 1225 to 1400 and defeated three Yuan-Mongol invasions, becoming one of the most flourishing dynasties in the Vietnamese history.

Secretary of Hung Ha District Party Committee Tran Huu Nam said, "The festival is held on a provincial scale with unique cultural events imbued with historical values and national traditions."

"Thai Binh’s Tran Temple Festival opens on the 13th day of the first lunar month and the next day, the 14th day of the first lunar month, Nam Dinh’s Tran Temple Festival will also be held, creating a connection of cultural and tourist space between the two neighboring provinces."

Thai Binh is the birthplace of the Tran Kings, and Nam Dinh is their first residential area.
