(VOVWORLD) -Foreign visitors to the Ho Chi Minh City totaled 75,000 over the past days of Tet holidays, up 15.4% over the same period last year, the municipal Department of Tourism said on Monday, the third day of the Lunar New Year holidays.

The Department estimated that from February 8 to February 14, the number of visitors will rise to 1.8 million, an increase of 5.9% compared to last year, earning 270 million USD, 4% higher than the same period last year.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, high-end resort tours and free & easy tours (a combo of air tickets and high-end hotels) have been much sought after. Foreign tourists, especially cruise passengers and travelers who have not booked tour companies, also increased sharply.
Travel businesses have launched diverse tourism products: Thu Duc spring tour; Spring tour to Binh Dong wharf; Tet celebration with celebrities; Saigon in the past - Ho Chi Minh City today; Exploring the city's architectural gems; and Saigon's hundred-year heritage.
