The Mekong Delta, with 12 percent of Vietnam’s land and 19 percent of its population, has a complex canal system and advantages for agricultural development, tourism, and renewable energy. As Vietnam’s largest agricultural production area, the region faces challenges from climate change to rising sea levels. Vietnam needs a new vision, strategy, and comprehensive solution for mobilizing resources to sustainably develop the Mekong Delta.
