German Chancellor refuses to resign, ready for new elections
(VOVWORLD) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Monday said she saw no reason to resign after the collapse of talks about a three-way coalition government, adding that her conservative bloc will enter a new election more unified than before.

Merkel told a German broadcaster that she is ready to serve four more years as Chancellor, and fells it is important to send a signal of stability for Germany, Europe, and the world.
Merkel said a demand for her to step down would not be a good way to start a new coalition. She said she is ready to be the top candidate of the CDU/CSU coalition and she will conduct a new election campaign if necessary.
