German Economics Minister Brigitte Zypries on Tuesday urged the US to discuss with the European Union the effects of the latest sanctions against Russia. She said sanctions against European companies are unacceptable. Ms. Zypries said the US should work with the EU towards solutions that are of mutual benefit.

German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel warned last week that Germany will not tolerate sanctions against Russia that affect European companies. European countries have criticized Washington for sanctions which could harm all participants of the Nord Stream 2 project that delivers Russian gas through the Baltic Sea to Central Europe.
