(VOVworld) – Forces loyal to Yemen’s President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi retook complete control of Abyan province from Houthi rebels, after taking over the town of Loder, a military source said Monday.

16 soldiers were killed and several people were injured in Abyan in the last 24 hours, most of them by mines planted by the rebels before their withdrawal, a source said. Local authority said among the injured are Deputy Speaker of Yemen’s Parliament Mohammed al-Shaddadi and former Interior Minister Hussein bin Arab.
