For Vietnam, the negotiation of a trade agreement with the United States aims to achieve a stable, sustainable and mutually beneficial bilateral trade agreement, in light of ensuring maximum national interests and harmonious benefits and shared risks.

At the meeting, team members discussed the objectives and plans for accomplishing the tasks, task assignment, information security regulations and plan implementation.

On Monday, the Minister of Industry and Trade, who is also team leader, sent an official note to the US Trade Representative (USTR) and the Secretary of the Treasury to inform about Vietnam’s negotiating focal point and technical level and ask the United States to confirm information about its negotiating team.
