(VOVworld) – The Hamas Jihad Movement on Sunday closed the border crossing between the Gaza Strip and Israel following the assassination of one of its senior commanders. The closing also applies to aid workers and patients needing medical treatment.

Last Friday, a senior Hamas militant, Mazen Faqha, was shot dead at the entrance of his home in Gaza. Hamas and other Palestinian groups blamed Israel for carrying out this assassination. Israel has not commented on Faqha’s death.
