The tourism promotion forum is held in Hanoi on March 11, 2022.

Nguyen Hong Minh, Vice Director of the municipal Department of Tourism, briefed participants on measures to make the tourism sector to take off again, including exempting or reducing electricity bills for accommodation providers and reducing 80% of escrow money for new tourism companies. 

“Hanoi has cooperated with 12 other localities to establish a safe tourism corridor. We are designing news tourism products and adapting safely to the pandemic situation,” said Mr. Minh. 

According to Google statistics, the number of foreigners searching for flights to Vietnam has increased 425% since January in comparison with the same period last year. 

Vietnam, one of the ten countries with the highest vaccination rate, has confidently moved towards fully reopening its borders to foreign tourists from March 15.
