(VOVworld) – Senior leader of a Pakistani Taliban group, Azam Tariq, was reportedly killed in Paktikta province of Afghanistan on Sunday.

The group’s sources said Azam was among the four Taliban leaders killed in an operation by Afghan security forces late Saturday. Azam’s son was also among the dead. Pakistani media also confirmed Azam’s death. Azam Tarik had earlier served as the spokesperson for the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and was currently working as the spokesperson of the Mehsud Taliban faction led by Khan Sayed.
