Spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, Syed Akbaruddin, reiterated New Delhi’s stance that only the Simla Agreement and Lahore declaration should be the basis for resolving their remaining issues, adding that talks should not include a third party. India asked Pakistan to immediately resume peace on the international border and the Line of Control in Jammu & Kashmir and stop supporting anti-Indian terrorists. Pakistani and Indian military officials discussed via their hotlines the conflicts on the border lines in Kashmir which has killed at least 20 people and prompted thousands of people to flee their homes over the last few weeks. Conflicts continued several hours after their talks ended.
