(VOVworld) – The Indian and Pakistani armies violated the ceasefire once again when an exchange of fire took place along the Line of Control (LoC) in the contested area of Kashmir.

Pakistani troops opened unprovoked fire on Sunday night on several forward posts in the Krishnagati, Sabzian-Mandi, Balakote and Pallanwala sectors, prompting the Indian army to retaliate. The firing continued until early Monday morning.

In another ceasefire violation, two skirmishes occurred along the International Border in Akhnoor sector in Jammu district last Saturday night. 18 ceasefire violations in July along the border between India and Pakistan killed four and injured 14.
