(VOVworld) – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a surprise stopover in Lahore, Pakistan on Friday to meet his counterpart, Nawaz Sharif, the first time an Indian prime minister has visited Pakistan in over a decade.

This is the second meeting of the two leaders over the past month to reduce tension at the Line of Control (LoC) in the disputed area of Kashmir.

Earlier both sides held a meeting on the sidelines of the UN climate change conference in Paris last month.

Modi’s visit took place a few days after India and Pakistan decided to resume a comprehensive dialogue which has been postponed by the 2008 attacks at a trading center in Mumbai.
