(VOVWORLD) - Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent talks with US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff were extremely useful and effective, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

Peskov said these contacts were effective due to establishing a line of communication between Moscow and Washington through which to exchange views on multiple issues, including the conflict in Ukraine.
He denied any discussion of a meeting between Putin and Trump, stressing that such a meeting would need extensive preparations.
Before Witkoff’s one-day visit to Russia, President Trump urged President Putin to move faster to end the conflict in Ukraine.
