(VOVworld) - Seven Russian classical and modern literature books translated into Vietnamese were made public in Hanoi on Wednesday.

The publication of the books is in the fourth phase of the project on translating literature from Russian into Vietnamese and vice versa.

All the titles, both classic and modern, are novels, poems, plays, and literature critics.

Translator Hoang Thuy Toan, director of the Vietnam-Russia Literature Fund, said that so far “only one third of the project has been completed. Russia is ready to help us to carry out the project but the point is we must attract more Vietnamese enthusiasts to the translation of Russian classical and modern literature. It’s our biggest difficulty. We hope that through such activities will be a great encouragement for Russian literature lovers with capacity in the Russian will enthusiastically participate in the project.”

So far, the Vietnam-Russia Literature Fund have completed translation of 17 publications from Russian to Vietnamese, and one from Vietnamese to Russian for publishing in Russia.
