(VOVworld) - Multisport competitions for both adults and children, including the popular Ironman race, are scheduled to hit the central coastal city of Da Nang on May 7.

More than 1,250 athletes from 52 countries will race in VNG Ironman 70.3 Vietnam, which was first introduced in Da Nang in 2015. Of the total, 330 racers are from Vietnam. The competition organizer, Sunrise Events Vietnam, said competitors will compete in a 1.9km ocean swim near the Son Thuy beach, a two-loop 90km bike race and a 21km run along the coastline.
Sporty children will find their playground with the Ironkids race, which enables them to run and participate in aquathlons. A 150m swim and 2km run course is designated for young athletes between 11 and 14 years old, while the routes for younger children from six to ten are reduced by half.
