Around the Hoan Kiem (Sword) Lake area, numerous large banners have drawn the attention of passersby. The miniatures, information boards, and logos are designed simply, but stylized, adding the heroic atmosphere of Vietnam's historical days.

Nguyen Thanh Thuy, a visitor from Bac Ninh province, told VOV5, “I’m sure that every Vietnamese person shares the same thought on this commemorative day because many soldiers heroically died to protect the nation for us to live in peace today.”

Throughout Hanoi, small alleys, residential areas, government offices, and schools have been beautifully decorated with national flags, banners, and slogans to mark the nation's major holiday, said Tran Van Kien from Hai Ba Trung district.

“Hanoi is so beautiful these days, with flags and flowers everywhere. Everyone is filled with joy as Vietnam celebrates its 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the national reunification. All of my family members and the neighbors feel excited and are looking forward to watching the grand parade.”

A tourist from Germany named Nadin said, “I have been to Vietnam and Hanoi many times. Each visit leaves me a unique impression. This time it is more impressive because it coincides with the national celebration of reunification. Hanoi is beautifully decorated, and its people are very friendly.”
