(VOVWORLD) - General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly delegations from 63 provinces and cities attended the closing session of the 9th extraordinary meeting of the 15th National Assembly on Wednesday.

In his closing remarks, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man praised the success of the session, having fulfilled all planned agenda items. The National Assembly approved the revised Law on Organization of the Government, the revised Law on Organization of Local Government, the Law on amending and supplementing several articles of the Law on Organization of the National Assembly, and the revised Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents.
The National Assembly approved a resolution on restructuring the State apparatus, along with four resolutions related to the organization of the National Assembly and Government during the 15th National Assembly term.
Several other critical resolutions were also passed, including the Resolution on Investment policy for the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project, the Resolution on piloting specific mechanisms and policies for urban railway development in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the Resolution on investment mechanisms for the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project, the Resolution on supplementing the 2025 socio-economic development plan with a growth target of 8% or higher, and the Resolution on piloting policies to overcome obstacles in science, technology, and innovation.
Chairman Tran Thanh Man said: "The session marks a significant milestone in Vietnam’s law-building process, playing a crucial role in streamlining the political system, promptly resolving institutional and policy barriers, and creating breakthroughs in infrastructure development and resource mobilization, and creating new opportunities for local and national growth. At the same time, personnel matters were handled in strict accordance with Party regulations and State laws, achieving strong consensus among National Assembly deputies."
Chairman Man noted that many issues still require further study and stressed the importance of ensuring strict adherence to Party guidelines and State laws in the implementation and oversight of newly enacted laws and resolutions.
He said: "Government agencies, localities, and agencies need to move forward with a proactive, creative, and decisive approach in implementing these policies. The Government needs to work with great efforts to develop detailed plans and guiding documents for the laws and resolutions, while relevant agencies must urgently review and amend legal documents related to apparatus restructuring."
Following the closing session, the National Assembly held an international press conference to discuss the outcomes of the session.
