(VOVWORLD) -The newly-appointed UNDP Resident Representative in Vietnam has pledged to further support Vietnam’s development, climate change response, and resolution of bomb and mine aftermath.

Ramla Al Khalidi was speaking at a meeting in New York on Thursday with Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN.
Ambassador Giang said he hopes that the UNDP will continue to support Vietnam in fulfilling its Sustainable Development Goals, share its experience, and provide consultancy for the country in policy making.
He also asked the UNDP to assist Vietnam’s efforts to achieve the targets set at the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP 26) that took place in the UK last year.
