(VOVWORLD) - The State considers the Vietnamese community abroad to be an integral part of and an important resource for the nation, Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang said at the Vietnam Global Leaders Forum in Paris over the weekend.

He said legal corridors and policy tools have been put in place to make it easier for overseas Vietnamese to participate in national development.
During the 2-day event, more than 100 OV experts and scientists from 20 countries gathered to share their views on connecting resources to enhance Vietnam's economic and geopolitical position globally.

Ha Duong Minh, Director of the French National Research Center, said that with many economic achievements over the past 30 years, Vietnam has transformed ourselves from a poor country into a middle-income nation.
“And now is the time to move toward becoming a rich, prosperous nation. To that end, we need to focus on clean energy, wind energy, electric vehicles, and electric batteries. These are part of the solution to make Vietnam a wealthy country by 2050,” said Ambassador Minh.
This was the second time the Vietnam Global Leaders Forum has been held to connect the intellectual resources of Vietnamese people abroad. The previous forum was took place in 2019.
