(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Sunday evening attended a special TV program called "Vietnam's Fulcrums" dedicated to people in flood and landslide areas caused by Typhoon Yagi.

To begin with, Prime Minister Chinh and delegates observed a minute of silence commemorating the victims killed by the powerful storm.
The Prime Minister said that Typhoon Yagi took a heavy toll on the lives and property of people and the country. In times of difficulty, everyone needs a fulcrum, according to PM Chinh, Vietnam has strong fulcrums, which are the great national solidarity; the Party's people-centered leadership; historical tradition, mutual affection; the power of the people; the army and police’s dedications to the people, and the nation’s spirit of self-reliance.
“In each of us, when facing difficulty and complexity, the more pressure we have, the more we strive to rise up. That is the spirit of self-reliance of each person to overcome their own limits," he said.

The Prime Minister called on people at home and abroad as well as organizations and soldiers to make every effort to contribute to overcoming the consequences caused by Typhoon Yagi in 26 northern provinces and cities.
