The Party chief on Monday chaired the third meeting of the Central Steering Committee for summarizing the implementation of Resolution 18 on the continued restructuring of the political system for greater efficiency. Also attending were President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

General Secretary To Lam outlined future tasks, saying "Ensure that agencies and units organized before, during and after the arrangement operate continuously, smoothly, and effectively without interruption of work, without leaving any tasks, areas or fields vacant, and without affecting normal operations."

Emphasizing that the country is simultaneously carrying out multiple major tasks, the General Secretary urged the entire political system to promote a high sense of responsibility so that the tasks are accomplished on schedule and goals are achieved.
