(VOVworld) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked An Giang authorities to outline measures to make full use of the province’s strengths in waterways to boost local growth.

At a working session with An Giang leaders in Hanoi on Thursday, Mr. Phuc named organic farming and tourism as potential lucrative businesses for An Giang but said its investment environment isn’t attractive enough.

“In the long run, An Giang should focus on tapping its internal 3,000km waterways, conduct master-planning, and allow investors to get involved in developing transport services,” said PM Phuc.

He said An Giang should also seek to improve its business and investment environment and spur the creation of start-ups by rural young people.
