(VOVworld) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung participated at Asia-Europe Business Forum dialogue in Milan, Italy, which was part of the Asia-Europe cooperation forum.
Speaking at the event, which gathered some 800 business representatives from Asia and Europe, the Prime Minister praised the role played by business sector in inter-continental economic connectivity:
“I call for your participation in the trade facilitation and investment promotion programs of ASEM. This will generate new cooperation opportunity as Asia is the world growth locomotive while Europe is the world center of innovation, technology and potential market. I hope for your support to ASEM developing countries in tackling unconventional challenges, especially food security, water and energy resources, sustainable resource management and climate change response.”
The Prime Minister said once Vietnam and the EU finalize their free trade deal, Vietnam will become part of an economic connectivity network and join the supply chain of 47 ASEM member states.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung delivered a keynote speech in front of leading politicians, scholars and researchers at the Koerber Academy before leaving Berlin. He warned of global threats of armed conflicts, territorial disputes, the use of force, terrorism and unconventional challenges.

The Asia-Pacific accounted for more than half of world GDP but facing complications in the Korean peninsula, territorial disputes in the East Sea and East China Sea due to a lack of trust. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung:
“These challenges require responsibility and cooperation by the whole world because not a single country could handle these issues. Stable peace and stability needs all countries’ goodwill and joint responsibility. Countries large and small must care for world joint issues and other countries’ legitimate interests besides their individual benefits. This will promote friendship, cooperation, trust and peaceful settlement of conflicts in line with the UN Charter.”
The Prime Minister hailed Vietnam’s foremost priority of securing peace and stability to focus on national development and living standard improvement. He reiterated Vietnam’s policy to not forming alliance with countries against others, Vietnam's persistency to protect Vietnam’s legitimate interests and sincerely wishing to build strategic trust with other countries. He commented on Vietnam-Germany relations as part of Asia Europe framework: “Vietnam, as an active member of the ASEAN, and Germany, as a key member of the EU, need to strengthen cooperation to boost ASEAN – EU and Asia–Europe relations for peace, stability and prosperity. This will create more rooms for the development of Vietnam Germany strategic partnership.”
