(VOVworld) - Binh Dan Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City on December 10 officially applied robotic surgeries for adult patients with state-of-the-art robotic surgical equipment of the Da Vinci Surgical System, becoming the first of its kind in Vietnam to offer such an advanced technique for adults.

According to Dr. Tran Vinh Hung, head of Binh Dan Hospital, the equipment can help surgeons access the most remote and smallest areas of the patient’s body. Binh Dan Hospital has employed the robotic surgical system since November, and is now the only clinic to offer robot-assisted surgeries for adult patients. Earlier in 2014, a robotic surgical platform was deployed for young patients at the Vietnam National Hospital of Pediatrics in Hanoi.
