(VOVworld) - The third round of trilateral consultations on Afghanistan by senior officials of Russia, Pakistan, and China was held in Moscow on Tuesday. The officials also met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov.

They pointed to a worsening security situation in Afghanistan and expressed concerns about intensifying activities by extremist groups, particularly ISIS. The participants agreed to continue efforts to achieve national reconciliation in Afghanistan. Russia and China, as permanent members of the UN Security Council, said they would be flexible about excluding certain individuals from the list of sanctioned persons in order to promote a peaceful dialogue between Kabul and the Taliban.
