Russian and US officials have discussed these demands over the past three weeks through both in-person and virtual meetings.
While the exact details of the list remain unclear, the conditions reportedly align with previous demands Russia has made to Ukraine, the US, and NATO. It is also uncertain whether Russia is open to engaging in peace talks with Kyiv before these conditions are met.
Among Russia’s past demands were Ukraine’s permanent abandonment of its NATO membership aspirations and a ban on the deployment of foreign troops within its territory.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, foreign ministers from the Group of Seven (G7) countries arrived in Canada for the G7 Summit, where they discussed key global issues, including efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The summit took place in Quebec on Thursday and Friday.
