Putin made the statement in a televised interview Monday with the Russia-1 Channel on the issue of Ukraine, Crimea, and the Minsk agreement. Regarding the Ukrainian President’s intention to return Crimea to Ukraine, Putin said President Poroshenko is looking for revenge, not territory. He said Ukrainian leaders should concentrate on saving their collapsing economy and creating more civilised relations with their south-eastern region to ensure the interests of the people of Donbass.
Ukraine said it will not withdraw its heavy weapons from the conflict zone in Donbass, saying the Minsk-2 ceasefire agreement has not been fully abided by.
