(VOVworld) - Saudi Arabia confirmed seven more deaths from the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) coronavirus in Riyadh, on Tuesday, raising the death toll to 498.

Earlier, the Saudi Arabia’s Health Ministry confirmed that 49 people were infected with the virus in a week from August 16 to 22.

Since MERS’ first appearance in Saudi Arabia in 2012, around 1.162 deaths have been reported there.
