Former soldiers at Vi Xuyen battlefield are happy to meet their comrade in arms again

At a seminar held in northern border province of Ha Giang on Friday, participants who are witnesses of war said the courageous and just struggle of the Vietnamese army and people has gone down in the history of Vietnam and will be remembered forever. Participants recalled the developments at the Thanh Thuy battlefield in Vi Xuyen district, Ha Tuyen province (now Ha Giang). Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tam, who fought in the Vi Xuyen battlefield, said: “After 40 years, we are very moved to be here again to meet our comrades in arms. We inquired about each other’s circumstances and families. I remember well all my comrades in arms, some are buried in Vi Xuyen cemetery and some died of old age.”
