At a seminar in Gia Lai province on Wednesday co-organized by Army Corps 34 and the People's Army Newspaper, speakers attributed the victory to the Party's wise direction, strategic leadership, and the creativity in combat tactics of the Vietnam People's Army. The event was part of celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, April 30th.

Associate Professor Dr. Tran Ngoc Long, former Deputy Director of the Vietnam Military History Institute, said, “The highlight of the Central Highlands Campaign was the strategic feint inducing enemy forces to concentrate in the northern Central Highlands, enabling our main divisions to liberate Buon Ma Thuot.”

“Ensuring defense security, close coordination between military branches, and a joint effort by the ethnic minorities of the Central Highlands created the combined strength needed for the historic victory. This proved the correctness of the Party's resistance strategy, the military ideology of the Ho Chi Minh era, and the strength of great national unity,” Long added.

The seminar reviewed the glorious feats, drew valuable lessons for today’s national construction and defense, and offered an opportunity to teach revolutionary traditions to, and arouse national pride and patriotism in, the younger generation.
