(VOVworld) – The National Assembly’s meeting on Thursday approved the revised Law on Bankruptcy and discussed the draft law on Civil Identification. 

Some deputies proposed to stop issuing ID card with 12 digits and review the database of ID cards with 9 digits to minimize waste. The deputies debated the feasibility combining the database of civil identification cards with national statistics on population and use a civil identification card to replace the birth certificate and household registration book.
They discussed the procedures for issuing and reissuing civil identification cards. Some deputies proposed to make the Law on Civil Identification a chapter in the Law on Household Registration.
