(VOVWORLD) - The diverse cultural traditions of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic communities are an invaluable asset in building a powerful Vietnam, State President Luong Cuong said at a spring festival held at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi on Saturday.

The annual event celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Vietnam’s ethnic groups and reinforces national solidarity. President Cuong emphasized that fostering national unity remains a strategic priority for the Party and the State, essential for the country’s rapid and sustainable development in the new era.

He noted that Vietnam’s cultural diversity and unity have been key factors in overcoming challenges and achieving significant progress in national construction and defense.  

“We must intensify efforts to effectively implement ethnic policies while preserving and promoting the cultural values of ethnic groups. It is crucial to recognize and honor the contributions of artisans, village patriarchs, and respected community figures, who serve as the backbone of their communities,” said President Cuong.
