(VOVworld) – Ukrainian police detained 30 protestors in clashes outside the parliament building that killed at least one National Guard serviceman and injured 100, including 90 security staff. Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said on Monday there will be more arrests. The protestors were wearing Ukrainian nationalist Svoboda (Freedom) Party T-shirts and throwing explosives at the police.

Clashes took place after the parliament approved the draft legislation proposed by President Petro Poroshenko, in which Ukraine will give greater autonomy to the east. 265 lawmakers voted in favor of the bill but the legislation requires at least 300 votes to get through a second and final reading later this year.
