(VOVworld) - The sound and long-standing diplomatic ties between India and Vietnam will lay a foundation for the countries to boost their cooperation, Vietnamese Ambassador Ton Sinh Thanh told reporters at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of South Asia in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Mr. Thanh said that while Vietnam has become a dynamic economy after 30 years of renovation and extensive reforms, India has enjoyed the fastest economic growth in the world thanks to its reform progress and a reduction of fuel and raw material prices.

Regarding the East Sea issue, the ambassador reiterated Vietnam’s support for stronger cooperation among countries involved and for peaceful settlement of disputes in line with international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
