Vietnam, Laos strengthen relations

(VOVWORLD) - Top Lao Party and State leader Thongloun Sisoulith, who is on an official friendship visit to Vietnam, said the friendship and special comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Laos will be protected and preserved.

During a banquet for General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith in Hanoi on Monday, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong highlights the significance of the Lao leader’s visit.

He said the Vietnamese Party, State, and people are deeply aware that every victory of Vietnam has the profound support of the Lao Party, State, and people. He affirmed Vietnam's pledge to do its best together with Laos to protect and develop bilateral relations for the prosperity and happiness of peoples of the two countries and for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region.

Mr. Sisoulith said his meeting with Mr. Trong was a success. He expressed his confidence in stronger bilateral ties.

The same day, Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense General Chansamone Chanyalath met with Vietnam’s Minister of National Defense Sen. Lieut. Gen. Phan Van Giang and former Vietnamese Minister of National Defense Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich
