Mr. Trung said Vietnam and Laos share a border of about 2,337 km that touches 10 Vietnamese and 10 Lao provinces. These provinces have completed the planting of 1002 border markers, recorded in the Vietnam-Laos border and border landmark protocol signed in 2016. Deputy Foreign Minister Trung said a stable border area will enhance the special solidarity of the two peoples and boost the stability and development of the two countries.
Vietnam and Laos will foster cooperation to prevent trans-border crimes and ensure security along the border. The two countries will create a mechanism and policies to attract investment to upgrade technical infrastructure and transportation.
