(VOVworld) - Vietnam and Norway will forge stronger cooperation in maritime economy for the interest of residents in coastal localities, according to a conference on maritime economy held by the Norwegian Embassy in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday.

In the future, if negotiations on the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the European Free Trade Area (Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) succeed, the Vietnam-Norway trade and investment ties will thrive. Among the topics discussed at the conference were Norway’s experience in fisheries development, the strength of the maritime economic sector in each country, technology in seaport operations and sustainable development of the shipbuilding industry.
