(VOVworld) - Vietnam has inseparable sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes. Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi said on Thursday in response to recent Chinese activities in Hoang Sa. In particular, Chinese National Offshore Oil Corporation has started bidding invitation for 19 oil slots in northern East Sea, including one about 1 nautical mile off Hoang Sa. On March 7, Deputy Administrator of Chinese Tourism Administration announced plan to expand tourism activities in Hoang Sa. On March 12, a Chinese Deputy Minister of Culture said China will build an archeologist center at the East Sea’s bed and a working station in Hoang Sa. Spokesman Luong Thanh Nghi said that those activities seriously violated Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa and contradicted to international laws, the 2002 ASEAN China’s Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea as well as awareness by both countries’ senior leaders. Those activities wouldn’t benefit the development of bilateral friendship and cooperation. Nghi said Vietnam asked China to respect its national sovereignty and stop its violation of Vietnam’s sovereignty in Hoang Sa archipelago to contribute practically to peace and stability in the East Sea
