Vietnam prioritizes women's development and gender equality: PM
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment, recognizing women’s significant contributions to education, culture, sports, tourism, and other fields.

PM Chinh was speaking at a meeting with Heroines of the People's Armed Forces, Labor Heroines, and female generals in Hanoi on Saturday on the occasion of the 40th anniversary the Kovalevskaia Prize and the 2024 award ceremony.
The Kovalevskaia Prize is Vietnam’s first national award for female scientist in natural sciences. Over the past 40 years, 22 research groups and 57 individuals have received this prestigious award. PM Chinh praised Vietnamese female scientists for their remarkable success at home and abroad, earning global recognition.
"You are role models of perseverance and lifelong learning, contributing to a knowledge-based society as Vietnam advances in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Your achievements inspire and empower others, especially women, to contribute to national progress," he said.
PM Chinh urged the Vietnam Women’s Union to create more opportunities for women, especially female scientists, and to support the development of a high-quality female workforce.
