(VOVWORLD) - The “Vietnam Summer Camp 2023” opens on Thursday in Hanoi with the theme “Vietnamese Together Advance to the Future”.

120 youth delegates and overseas Vietnamese students from 26 countries and territories will attend the 18th Vietnam Summer Camp.
Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, who is Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, said: “The Summer Camp has connected many generations of overseas Vietnamese from around the world with their peers in the country. They create a firm foundation for great international unity.”
In a space of 2 weeks, overseas Vietnamese youth will participate in an array of activities in many provinces and cities, visit scenic spots, and learn about the lives of local people. They will join with local young people in volunteer activities to help disadvantaged and less fortunate people.

Ha Duong Hai My, a Vietnamese in Poland, said: “I’m very happy to attend the Summer Camp. I wish to visit many places in Vietnam and learn more about Vietnamese culture and the people.”
6 young overseas Vietnamese who have excelled in local community activities, will be awarded Certificates of Merit by the Chairman of the State Committee on Overseas Vietnamese Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
