Vietnam, Venezuela strengthen defense co-operation

Venezuelan Major-general Rogelio Manuel Heredia made the remarks at a reception hosted by Vietnamese Deputy Chief of Staff in Hanoi on Thursday. Lieutenant-general Khanh said since Vietnam and Venezuela established diplomatic ties in December, 1989, the two countries’ defense co-operation has developed remarkably, adding that Vietnam placed its Defense Attaché Office in Venezuela to enhance bilateral defense co-operation. Khanh suggested the two nations improve delegation exchanges to enhance mutual understanding and seek co-operation opportunities for the two armies. Venezuelan Major-general Rogelio Manuel Heredia is leading a delegation of the Venezuelan Institute for Higher National Defense Studies on a working visit to Vietnam.
