Reflecting on his years of working alongside the Vietnamese Party leader in an interview with VOV, Chummaly Sayasone said the lessons he learned from General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong are invaluable lessons for the Party and State of Laos. He said General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was a close friend of the Lao people and that the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is a great loss not only for the Party, State, and people of Vietnam but also for the people of Laos.

Chummaly Sayasone said he personally learned many valuable lessons from Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong which serve as guidance for the Lao Party and State, particularly in Party building and cadre training.

"We worked together and discussed all issues. What I remember most, and what impressed and taught me the most, was his perspective on building a political base and developing new rural areas. This lesson has helped Vietnam succeed. We have learned and focused on rural development. This means that our two Parties share the same socio-economic development goals, and Laos can apply Vietnam's lessons. These are things I will never forget," said Chummaly Sayasone.  

Chummaly Sayasone added that despite recent complexities in the global and regional context, under the direction of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Vietnam has gradually overcome obstacles and achieved significant milestones across various fields. These achievements have contributed to improving people's lives and advancing the country's development.
