Vietnam’s first medals at World Skill Competition

(VOVworld) – Vietnam has won a bronze medal at the just-concluded World Skill Competition in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

This is the first medal to be won by the Vietnamese delegation in its five years of participation in the event.   

The medal was of Nguyen Duy Thanh, a student of the Ho Chi Minh University of Industry, in the information technology software solutions for business category.

The Vietnamese delegation also grabbed eight vocational skills certificates of excellence in categories of mechanical engineering design – computer-aided design (CAD), computer numerical controlled (CNC), mechatronics, and welding, as well as plumbing, web design and brick-laying.

The biggest vocational education and skills excellence competition, held every two years, attracted 1,192 contestants from 64 countries and territories this year. Candidates competed in 50 skills, including 46 official vocations and 4 demonstrative vocations.
